Interruptions

Following October 7 2023,  my work froze. I collected newspapers in my studio and left my "Integrations" mandalas out where they had been for Open Studios. In time I interrupted the mandalas with painful cut-out newspaper headlines that I reordered as a form of poetry. Strangely, it felt like an act of violence to my gentler work, and also cathartic. These are works of grief, deep uncertainty and profound loss of innocence.  I am now layering meditative drawings over those words, creating a ritualistic process to quiet the pain and chaos.
